Redding, gave the invocatic�n.
The meeting,was called t�o order by Mayor Fleharty and�upon roll call the foll�owing
councilrnen were present: Anthony, Holyfield, Simons.and Flehartya Councilman
Smith was absent, �
City Attorney Cibula and City Manager C'o.v�were present, -
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: Made by Councilman Simflns, seconded by Couricilrnan Holyfield that the
minutes �of the regular meeting of Octflber 17th and the adjourned meeting of
Octaber 24th be approved as mailed to each �f the councilmen. The V�te ''Unanim'ous
Ayes. '
RELOCA'TION OF NATIONAL. GUARD ARMORY� '
���3 Lieutenant B'oehle, sp�kesman for the Nati�nal Guard on their �request for the re-
location of their armory, Sent�on Airport site, advised that plans were under way
for th.e eventual construction of a Service Center buildirig to cost between.$25, 000.
and $30, 000. , however, it would be necessary to submit plot anc1.deed to the State
before any acti�n wfluld be taken by the State.
Mayor Fleharty adyised that in view of tlie study being given to over-all civic
development within the� City, actimn would be deferred pending further study and
rec�ommendation for a positive location of the proposed buildings would be given
as s�on as p�ssible. � �
COMMUNICATIONS � '
Petitian of Protest - Thames Drive R:esiderits
��� A protest ori the proposed alternate truck route east af Thames Drive was
submitted by re.sidents. of Thames Drive,_ and it was suggested a more �
economical and l�ess objectionable r�ute.w�fluld be the construction �of a road
immediately east of the ACID canal. They further suggested the f�rmation
of a committee t� study the area as a whole:and to c�nsider all factors.,
past, present and future, -
IVIOTION: Made by C:�uncilman H�olyfield, seconded by Councilman Anthony
that the City Att�orney be auth�rized to prepare an urgency ordinance for
posting, of an eight ton load limit �n all streets in the entire Riverside Garden
5ubdivision, and that such things as are necessary be done to remove the
present load limit on Butte Street bridge where it crosses over the ACID _
canal, The Vote: Unanimaus Ayes.
Mr, Douglas Hayward and Mr. C. L. Br�wn, sp�kesmen for residents of
Thames Drive and Athens Avenue, were advised they w�uld be notified when
the c�ommittee was formed for the further study and recommendation of
this problem.
J � � Request for Rem�val of.parking:Meters - 1500 Block.Calif. St.
Mr.. Geo, Ka Moty advised of a building program west side of the 15D0
bl�ock on California Street-�that would necessitate the removal of two parking
meters presently located in the path of their propased driveway; that a third
meter sh�ould be removed at some future date to lengthen the parking spaces
to permit easier parking.

LTnder date of October 27th, Mr. Mel Peck adv_ised that streets, curbs 'and
gutters, water and sewer had been c�onstructed in the Orchard Estates Subd,
in accordance with specifications at the foll�wing locations; All of Block
"A", Lots 1 t� 7 inclusive of Block. ''$", all of Bl�ock "C'', L�ts 2 to 5
inclusive of Block "D". He requested this portion �f the Orchard Estates
