Mr. Verne Hansen, Mesa, Ariz�ona,' requested a free street peddling � J'�7�=-
�ermit as he was a y�ung man, blind, and' totally disabled due to

due to laws governing pensi�ons f�r the blind,

(across from United Welding Shop) and requested the installatian
�f a meter and water service for_.this propertyo There is a 4"
water line t� the corner �f this property, built in 1948.
It was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by C�uncilman Ant�hony
that the request �f Mr. McKenna be denied, under the conditi�n that
people within the area af t-he city limits were not being adequately
served, but this ,motion, and second.were withdrawn.
The motion was then stated, and arnended, to read as follows:
That all reques.ts from applicants for new water installations outside

The City Attorney was requested to check into this matter and report
to the council if there_ was any contractural obligation, or commitment
binding.the city to service this h�me. R.ep�rt to be submitted June 28th.
Mrs, Sizemore and Mr, Neil Severtson,V speaking from the floor,
advised the water line had been built in 1�94`8 and eight property awners
were now connected ta `this line. ` � � `

State Regianal Water P�llution Contr�l B�oard,advised of inspe�ti�on
of discharge fram the Redding Sewage Treatment plant, and submitted
to c�uncil a c�py �f repart.
Council were advised that Mr. Dick and Mr. Ols�on had received copies
flf this report, and Mr. Dick would r�eport ta the council their re-
commendation f�r salution of�the problem.

City Treasurer� Louise Fancher advis'ed that 75°jo �f the property owners
�on O�range Avenue had paid their assessrnents �on P�r�oject N�e 55-12,
Orange Avenue between Butte Street and Eureka Way; sidewalks, curbs,
driveways, drainage and necessary paving. . �

that the Redding Jr, Cham'ber of Commerce be g,ranted the use of Lake
Redding Park for their annual 4th of July celebration July 3rd and 4th,
with the customary c�ncession privileges, 7,ncluding the sale of beer.

Re Stockton to Redding River Race, August 5th and fith�
A request was received from the Reddirig Jr. Chamber of Commerce to
charge admission to the events on Sunday, August. 7th_only, in .order to
help defray�part of the indebtedness that must be met in sp�ns�ring the
Stockton to Redding R.ive'r Race, It was their plan to block off and charge
admission at the s�,uth end of the Diestelh�rst Bridge, t� block off and
