Request - We�st Coast Shows
The West C`oast�.Sliows"u.rider date. of November llth requested coun'cil
for permission to haye a carnival in Redding June 14th to 19th inclusive ,
(1955) on the Kate.Benton Estate property opposite the rodeo grounds.
The letter states: '�If this perrnit is granted we will .abide by all ordinances
and policies as established by the City Attorney, City Manager and' the
Redding Police Department, 't .
Mayor Hoiyfield referred this communication to the Police Committee. �

a. Frarik Bosw:ell and Ivlinnie Boswell .
Claim for damages in the amount of $750. 00 against the City of Redding
by Frank and Minnie Boswell was presented. Damage was caused by a -'`
fire on August 8th, 1954 that burned vegetation, brush and improvements '
on Lot 3, Fern Acldition to Woodlawn.
b. Earnest Dozier
Claim for' darnages in the amount of $650. 00 against the City of Redding
by Earnest F�ozier�was presented. Damage was caused by a fire on
August 8, 1954 that burned vegetation, brush and improvements:on Lots
l, 2 and 10, Fern.Addition to W�odlawn.
City Manager Stites advised that Mr. Merian was the contr'actor for the
Placer Street paving job,,, and that he held an insur.ance policy on this
project, that it•was questionable whether�the �City was responsible in
view of the hold harmless clause in the contract.

a. Re Priority Lis.t of necessary Improvements fo_r Recreation & Parks
In a comrnunication dated November�lOth, sigried- by. Claude Caldwell,
Chairman of the Recreation Corrirnission, it was requested that the
� council establish a priority list of necessary improve�nents for re-
� creation and parks and this list be strictly adhered to that petitioning
groups can�not urge�the accomplishments. of projects not on the list.
It wa's requested this matter be held in abeyance.

It w.as the recommendation of the Recreation Gommission that the

A communication dated November 12th signed by Wxn. L. Tyrell,
subdivider of the Rosewood Garden Subdivision requested JCouncil
pass the necessary resolution accepting responsibility for the assessment

on the 43 ft. strip of grourid- de'eded to the City for street purposes.
The pro-rata assessment on this st'rip of land, Mr. Tyrell stated,
