The meeting was called to order by Mayor Holyfield and upon roll call the
following councilmen were present: Fleharty, Simons, Smith and Holyfield.

Redding Yellow Cab Co. Request for Ext. Maximurn Fares
Charles Bull, owner of t�ie R.edding Yellow Cab Company .requested
extension of the maximum fare of 75� for an indefinite period for the
transportation of from 1 to 5 passengers via taxicab any place within
the city limits .of Redding: He stated the six month trial period had
proved very satisfactory with this modification in the rates.

The current rate�of garbage per ton, according to an Agreement

garbage. Mr. Stites advised the council that due to the regulations

cooking equipment, however has asked for�nol adjustrnent on the
price for the garbage by reason .of such cooking.

REPORT.ON PR.OPOSED PURCHASE POWER.LINES _
. -City Manager Stites :reported he., Mx.:Lei�h,�H..Smith and Mr. Mason had conferred
regarding the reconciliation of the_ difference between the City�s.estimate and
the P. G. & Efs figures on the proposed purchase of the Grandview power lines,
and the main discrepancy was the 15°jo item for going concern, ,_and a difference
in the number of transformers. .
It was sugges.ted the ElectricaL.Comrnittee meet to consider a counter-proposal
to the offer made. by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company,

City Manager Stites advised this engineering project was progressing slowly.

City Manager. Stites reported the .Airport Commission had expressed their
� -disapproval of dare=devil acts for the Air Show September 19th.

ENGINEERING `PROJECTS - :
Mayor Holyfield.recorrimended the council set up an order of importance on
engineering projects, to take precedent over others, _

SIGNALS - Court at_Eureka Way, Calif, at Eureka Way ' .
, City Manager Stites advised that contracts had been received from the 5tate of
Calif, on.the signals for Court and Calif, Streets at Eureka Way. This contract
was referred to th�e City Attorney for his recommendation.
