Mayor Holyfield and upon roll call the following'cot�ncilmen were present: Anthony, Fleharty, Simons, Smith and Holyfield: _ JOINT MEETING - Redding Elementary School�Board Mr. Siebert Stephens, District Supe'rintendent of Redding Schools,. advised he w�uld like to arrange a joint conference between the City Council, City Manager and City Attorney and the Redding,Elementary 5chool Board to discuss the , South Pine Str:eet property. Made by Councilman Smith , seconded by Councilman Simons that the Mayor be authorized to proclaim the week of July 18th as National Jackass Week. The vote: Unanimous ayes. � _ � V LEAGUE GDNFER�NCE - Los Angeles� - City Manager Stites announced that advanced r-eservations for the 56th annizal conference of:the League of California-Cities were now being made. The confer- ence will be held in.Los Angeles October- 17th to 20th inclusive, with headquarters in the Biltmore Hotel•. • - AWARDING OF BID - Placer St. Construction MOTION: Made by Councilman Simons, seconded by C4uncilman Fleharty that bid of Robert M. Merian for $25, 721. 00 for the improvement of Placer Street - between Olive Avenue and the Igo-Ono Road be accepted. Iv�ayor .Holyfield requested Mr. Stites' to obtain an inventory from tY�e Racific '� Gas and Electric Company in order that comparison cou�d�e made with the�--` inventory taken by the City of Redding.
