V. Bailey, right of way agent for the Division of Highways, for cancellation of taXes for� the 1953-54 � fiscal year on property acquired by the State for right of way by Hotel y Casa Blanca, Inc. was presented for council consideration.' _ _ _ ' � City Attorney Cibula, in a memorandum for the City Clerk advises that no physical property as such was acquired by the 5tate, and tliat all that was actually acquired was a relinquishrrient by Hotel Casa - Blanca of abutter�s rights to Highway 99. For this reason there would be nothing on which to base cancellatiori of any taxes for the second installment of tax year 1953-54. It was his recommendation that Mr. Bailey be so advised. v � . Peck, Resubdivision map approved by City Council urider date of June 2lst. This was referred to the City Manager for reassessment charges. Letter of Appreciation - Keith Ward, Office of Civil Defense Keith E. Ward, regional coordinator of civil clefense, advised the council of his resignation effective June 30th, and expres'sed his appreciation for the cooperation of the City in the past three years. Delinquent Tax Report - June Z8, 1954 � The delinquent tax report, covering perio.d from May 28th to June 2,8th was presented by Louise Fancher, Delinquent Tax Collector. Recommendations of the City Manager - Street Improvement Almond Street - City Manager�Stites advised all owners of property 'on Almond Street between Eureka Way and Sha,sta Street; had either p2.id their assessment for street improvement in full, or paid the inst�ll- ment payment in accordance with the deferred payment plan, and re- commended the City's proposed contribution of $898. 03 be made from the Special Improvement Fund. 2� � MOTION: Made by Councilman Anthony, seconded by Councilman Smith that the recommendations of the City Manager be accepted, and the sum of $898. 03 be appropriated from the Special Improvemen't Fund to cover the cost of the Cityis. contribution to the Almond Street improvement.
