Council of,the City`of R.edding Gentlemen: � , � Regarding the payment of water connection fees in the Sunset Terrace 5ubd,, I wish to make the following recommendation. Unit #1 - Inasmuch as most of the lots �in this subdiJision are served with water, Mr. Wood has agreed that any vacant groperty left in this subdivision will pay the connection fee when it desires service. This payment may be paid by the property owner, or Mr. Wood. � Unit #Z - Approximately 13 lots were served with water in this unit�before - the C,ity adopted the Ordinance providing for $1. 50 per front foot connection fee. The remaining 25 lots, together with approximately 8 parcels of land not included in the subdivi�sion, are adjacent to water mains. These mains were constructed by,.Mr, Wood.at the time the subdivision was built, to- gether with house services to back of curb. In view of the fact that it was the policy,of the City to provide;free water :service. prior to the adoption of the connectio.n fee Ordinance; I recommend`that Mr. Wood be paid that portion of the co�st of constructing this water system, that the number of lots connected :prior to the adoption of the O,rdinance bears. to the total number of lots in the subdivision, � This payment would not exceed $2, 500. 00. D. on Tuesday, November3rd, and it appeared possible to work'out the drainage prob�lem of this` area on a�mutal basis;; the District to make a survey and plans for additional culverting,� the City to obli.gate t�iemselves to widening the channel of the drainage ditch runnirig urider the canal. City Manager Stites stated a survey of the channel would be made, right of-way must be acquired, and estimated the cost in the neighborhood of $10, 000,.00. No provisions had bee'n made in the present budget for this pr.oject, Mr. Stites added. , . 162 RE COM1_'LETION OF PROJE:C,T SOUTHEAST STREET . City Attorney Cibula stated he had nothing further to report on the condemnation suit for the acquisition of property necessary for the straightening of Southeast Street; that final papers were now in process of operation.
