� forward ballots_ for ,an employees election, voting�either approval -or disappr.oval
of the State Employees� Retirement System; that after ballotting, and should the
election prove favorable. for acceptance of the plan, a Contract would be p're-

Mel Sornberger, building contractor, requested considerati�on;by the Council that
the building program be so' diyided that local cont 'ractors can bid, stating that
local contractors could ill afford further outside competition,,_ and that few; if
any, of the contrae.tors were qualified in Reddin,g tg:post the required:bond� on
a job of this magnitude. _ : _
Mr. H. D. Bernard protested. the proposed sales tax, stating the establishment of
a sales,tax tended to drive business._outside of the_City. .
Mr. H, W_eingartner expressed his views that R.edding,was.an ide.al conventiori site,
that an auditoriizm was needed, but he was not in approval of a city sales tax.

report on the clarification and revision of the.business license tax ordinances,
however he did feel, that the business licens.e tax on mus,ic teachers was not_ out
