There were�no pr�tests frflm the fl�oor, n�r written protests �ori this
prap-�osed project. Mayor Fleharty continued the Public .Hearing until
- the next regular meeting of the City Council, February 20th,

RESTORATION OF TIGER FIELD : � ��
Mr. Riehard F. Anders�on, Secretary to the Board of Direct�rs.,
Redding Tigers, ,Inc. , requested that consider.ation be given to ,
the problem of restoring Tiger Field t� such conditi�n that the little -
and adult baseball leagues may orga�aize and continue their schedules ' �
as they have in the past. � �
Rec�m:nendati�n No. 1 - Camplete restorati�on of the grandstand, fence
andlocker-r�om facilities. -
Recflmmendation Na. 2 - Demolition of burned structure with. the erection
of temporary bleachers, repair of fence and installation of adequate
shower and lavatory facilities. �

Mr. Daniel S. Carlt�n, speaking from the floar, stat ed the formulation '
af pragrams, the scheduling of the financing and commitments of the
variaus leagues rendered it necessary to have an answer as so�fln as
possible whether Tiger Field would be ready f�r the coming baseball
season, ' �

Councilman Simons advised that settlement had not been made by.the
insurance company, hflwever, the adjuster was due in Redding the
latter part of February and funds for restflration wauld then be available.
MOTION: Made by Cmuncilman Aritliony, seconded by Councilman Simflns
that the City Manager be authoriz.ed to conduct a detailed survey for the
restoration.of. Tiger Field so that it can be used this coming baseball
season, and to proceed with the restoration, advertising for bids as
necessary, �

8 inch minimum size far sanitary sewers, and it was his recom-
mendation an 8 inch: sewer Tine be install-ed.in th�e Village Sub-

ta participate in the difference of cost between what=it would cost
and what the City. wants,

C�uncilrria.n Smith recflmmended the cutting of an open temp�rary ditch
acrflss city pr�perty and drain-excess water into �the park. �
RE RIDGE DR.IVE SUBDIVISIQN - Pr��osed Street Im�ravements oZ�s
A.letter fr�m D�niel So Carlton dated Fei�ruary. 23rd,, �requested that
City advise their interiti�n with regards t�o the installati�on �of streets
and gutter�s in the Ridge Drive Subdivisifln �on pr�perty awned by
Glenn Shaok and William Tyrell. Attenti�on was calTed to an Agree-
ment betw:een the City and these men regarding this pr�posed-improve-
ment, and that a substantial payment on the construction price had
been paid,
Gity Engineer McKinn�on submi`tted an estimate of c�st �n impr�ving
a p�ortion �of Ridge Drive, Waushara Avenue and Woadlawn Street, in
the t�tal sum of $29, 7810 OOo
Estimated cast of this work �n which pr�ject was �riginally set up was

Action �n this request was d�ferred pending a conference �f the City

� Anc,ommunication from Randall J. PreseTigh, District Attorney,
advised Mr. Cowden that title to the Pine Streec schoal pr��e'rty
was vested in the Ga7��n' S�h�oal District under date of Sept. 1, .
1873 and �rovision of the deed provided:
"Said _aropericy tb r�e used for school and kindred '
purposes, otherwise this deed'will be null and void. "
He adds '�The Redding Sehool District has superseded the original
authority flf the Canon Scho;ol District, alth�ough this office does
not have pr�of of the merger, c�ns�olidation; unification, or what-
ever th� case may be. " < \

It was-the conelusion, after legal research, tliat the Red�ding 'Sch�al°
District was in a �ositi�n to transfer th'e' entire legal''�wne.rshi�'flf
this pr�,�erty to the City. of Redding in the event that b�oth _sides were
willing.
