These persons were referred to City Assessor Townsend, who would check
property personally for report to City Council. " ' '
Werner Holmquist, �044 Gold Street, advised ori studying one bbok bf' the `
assessment roll, he was of the opinion there were many inequalities. Mayor
Fleharty advised the City Assessor would, in�time, 'bring all inequities to `
standa�rd, but at-would take time. -

Mr. Clyde Amesbury, 175Z Chestnut Street, said the reevaluation of City
�I� property was a colossal job and the City was to be commended for the fine job
they were doing; he did feel, however, the Butte Street storxn drain job should
not be financed from general obligation, but should be financed by special
improvem�nt distric.t. _
Mayor Fleharty stated it was City's policy that once a project had been �.ccepted
by the City, it was City's obligation to maintain; that had the street drains been
adequate, then this situation would not have existed.
Mr. Jo hn England, . 73_5_ Parkview Avenue, spoke on his assessment, on the
condition of a;lley behind his property, and the breaking down of the fence when
the contractor constructed the sewer in the alley; and called attention to two

dangerous p�ace,s in t�e_storm_. sewers at�Parkview and Lanning:and the next
street to the East. , = ' � � - -
City Manager Cowden stated he would investigate these complaints.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned until Monday, July
13th at 10:00 A.M,
