Due to the absence of two councilxnen from the City, Mayor Fleharty
advised there would be postponement of farewells to Councilxn�:n Earl Lee
Kelly. , .
Mr, James Carter, 656 West Street, expressed his personal appreciation
to C�uncilman Kelly for his fine representation as a councilman.
There being no further busixaess, i.t w.as moved by Councilman Fulkerth,
seconded by Councilman Kelly the m�eting be adjourned uritil 4:30 P. M,

The xneeting was called to order by Mayor Fleharty with the following �
councilmen present: Fulkerth, Kelly and Fleharty. Absent: Councilxizen
Puryear and 5imons.
- Als� present were City Attorney Coshow, City Manager Cowden, City
� Treasurer Simonds and George A, Martin, M� D,
COMMITTEE APROINTMENT -Parking District . �
,Mayor Fleharty recomrriended the appointment of Ge�rge Moty, Bob Dicker
�� � and Silvio Bui to the Parking District Committee.
� .
MOTION: Made by Councilman Kelly, seconded by Councilman Fulkerth= that
George Moty, 5ilvio Bui and Bob Dicker be appointed a comznittee of tliree for
work to be done on the Parking District. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes.
CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS
Th�e City Clerk advised that up.�n comnletion of the cariva.ssing of the absent
voter ba•llots, the votes thus counted had been added to the results of the
official canvas of the precinct vote to obtain complete and total vote of the City,
, Mayor Fleharty, Councilman Kelly and Councilm�.n Fulkerth �.anvassed returns
of the precinct vote,
MOTI,ON: Made by Gouncilman Kelly, seconded by Councilman Fulkerth that
� ��� Resolution No. ,Z6.99 be adopted, a. resolution declaring the results of the
General Municipal Election held in the City.of Redding �n April 12, 1960.•
Sherman White Fulkerth and George A, Martin, M. D. elected to the office
of councilxnen for a four year term, and Genevieve Simonds elected to the
office of City Treasurer for a four .year :term. �
Voting was as follows: " - •
Ayes: • Councilmen - Fulkerth, Kelly and Fleharty
Noes: Councilmen - None . •
Absent: Councilmen - Puryear and Simons �
' Resolution No. 2699 on file in the office of the City Clerk.
Certificates of Election were issued by the City Clerk to the newly elected
officials, and Oath of Office administered, .
Due to the absence of C�uncilmen Puryear and Simons from this meeting, the
appointment of a Mayor and Mayor pro tempore was schedu�ed. for �he meeting
of May 2nd.
There being no further business, it was moved by Councilman Fulkerth, se onc�ed
