The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Robert Courtney. Reverend George Egan, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, gave the invocation. The meeting was called to order by;Mayor''Moty with the following councilmen present: Chatfield, Denny, .Fulton, Hummel and Moty. Also present were City Manager Cowden, .City Attorney.Murphy, Assistant City Manager and Director of Finance Courtney, Director of Public Works Arness, Planning Director Keyes, Traffic Engineer Freeman, Parks Director Smith, Fire Marshal Wade and Assistant Civil Engineer Hastings. O'Brien Hazel Shorey Millen John Alward Harold Finkler APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: Made by Councilman Fulton, seconded by Councilman Denny that minutes of the last regular meeting of August 3d be approved as mailed to each oi the councilmen. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS Councilman Hummel, at the request of Mayor Moty, introduce� his three sons in attendance at the meeting, Gordon Jr. , Gregory and Mike. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS Request to Rent City Owned Property Mr. Edgar Griffin, operator of the Griffin Club at 1659 California Street, asked permission to rent City owned property at 1507 California S�reet at $50. 00 pe.r month rent, provide3 council would approve the transfer of his �q `� card table license to this address. He stated he would be willing to vacate �/`�'7 the prernises with one weekrs notice. City.Manager Cowden stated Mr. Griffin would install rear fire doors and do all necessary repairs at his own expense. MOTION: Made by Dr. Fulton, seconded by Councilman Hummel to approve the request of Edgar Griffin to transfer his card table license to City owned property at 1507 California Street. The Vote: Unanimous 'Ayes. Request Extension of Lease The Shasta Houndsmen advised their permit to use City property.would expire September 30, 1964 and asked for extension under the same general terms and conditions as .provided in the original lease until September 30, 1968. MOTION: Made by Dr. Fulton, seconded by Councilman Hummel to apvrove lease extension of the Shasta Houndsmen as requested and the City Attorney ��� be instructed that lease extension contain a thirty day .cancelation notice.
