There being no further business, at the hour of 11:00 P. M. , on the
motion of Councilman Chatfield, seconded by Councilman Doherty,
the meeting was adjourned to 12:30 P. M. , October 5th.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Moty.with the fol;lowing
Councilmen present: Denny, Doherty; Fulton, and Moty. Absent:
Councilman Chatfield
Also present was City Attorney Murphy
LEASE OF CITY PROPERTY - Air Force Office
This matter was declared an urgency item
City Attorney Murphy reported he had received a request from the U. S.
Army Corp of Engineers in Sacramento that the City of Redding waive
rental cha;rges for the month that the U. S. Air Force occupied space in
the Police Dept. & Council Chambers Bldg, because the administrative
processes that must be gone through would cost more and take more
time than the amount of the rental fee. Mr. Murphy said the Air Force
occupied the room during the month of September, the period between �� �
their move from City property in the 1500 block of California Street to
the Redding Hotel on Market Street.
MOTION: Made by Councilman Doherty, seconded by Councilman Fulton
that the rental charges incurred by the U: S. Air Force for space occupied
in the Police Dept. & Council Chambe rs Bldg, during the month of
� September, 1965 be waived due to the administrative red tape involved.
Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen - Denny, Doherty, Fulton, and Moty
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen - Chatfield

RANCHO PARKS ASSESSMENT DISTRICT '
This matter was declared an izrgency item.
City A.ttorney Murphy reported that at the regular meeting of October 4th,
Council had set a public hearing date of October 18th for protests to
reassessment of parcels of land in the Rancho Parks Assessment District.
Mr. 1Vlurphy� requested that Council rescind this action inasmuch as the
1915 A.�ct, Division of Assessmerits provides that the notice of hearirig
must be published Lwo times, and• the public hearing cannot be held less
than I5 days from the first date of publication. It also provides that the
clerk shall fix the time and place for hearing.

�' MOTION: Made by Councilman Denny, seconded by Councilman Fulton
that action taken by Council at the regular meeting of October 4th,
setting the public hearing date of October 18th re the Rancho Parks
Assessment District is hereby rescinded and the City Clerk is instructed
to set such hearing date in conformance with the provisions of the 1915 Act
Division of Assessments,
Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen - Denny, Doherty, Fulton, and Moty
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen - Chatfield
ELECTION RETURNS - Sewer Bond Issue
Councilmen canvassed the returns of the Sewer Bond Election held on
September 28, T965. '
MOTION: Made b'y Councilxnan Denny, seconded by Councilman Fulton
that Re s olutiori No. 3 5 70 be adopted, a re s olution of the City Council
'� 7 �� of the City of Redding declaring Canvass of Returns and Result of
%�� Special 'Municipal Bond Election.
