Redding, California ' December 26, 1968 12:00 Noon The meeting was called to order at 12:05 P. M. by Mayor Moty with the � � following Councilmen present: Chatfield, Denny, Doherty, and Moty. ' Absent: Councilman Fulton. I > ;� � Also pr,esent were City Attorney Murphy, Director of Public Works Arness, ; M Planning Director Harris, and Deputy City Clerk Richter. AIRPORTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION In a communication dated December 23, 1968, Airports Manager McCall � submitted the recommendation of the Airports Commission that the request , of Mr. Charles Bull to operate Hertz Rent-A-Car and limousine services � � � . at Redding Municipal Airport for the 1969 year be approved under the same conditions as the previous perinit;� however, the charges will be in accord- , ance with Resolution No. 4162, which goes in effect February 1, 1969. : . MOTION: Made by Councilman Chatfield, seconded by Councilman Denny ; approving the request of Mr. Bull as outlined above and authorizing the Mayor to sign the permit. The vote: Unanimous Ayes RESOLUTION - withdrawing ptn of Buckeye Fire Protection District MOTION: Made by Councilman Denny, seconded by Councilman Doherty � that Resolution No. 4165 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council of the ;1,�JS City of Redding withdrawing from the Buckeye Fire Protection District h� that portion of the District lying within the boundaries of City of Redding Annexation designated "Twin View Annex No. 1", effective January 1, 1969. R Voting was as follows: I Ayes: Councilmen - Chatfield, Denny,. Doherty, and Moty Noes: Councilmen - None � � Absent: Councilmen - Fulton � � Resolution No. 4165 on file in the office of the City Clerk EASEMENT - Gas Pipe Line to Senior Citizens Clubhouse City Attorney Murphy submitted an easement and right-of-way from City of Redding to Pacific Gas and Electric Company for the purpose of installing ' (,9 and maintaining a gas pipe line to Senior Citizens Clubhouse. . i-�`� � ! MOTTON: Made by Councilman Doherty, seconded by Councilman Chatfield � authorizing the Mayor to sign the aforementioned easement. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes RESIGNATION - Councilman Frank J. Doherty Councilman Doherty submitted the following letter of resignation: 840 Gold Street � S � Redding, California 96001 � December 26, 1968 The Honorable George Moty Mayor of Redding Redding, California 96001 Dear Mayor Moty: . It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I tender my resignation as Councilman for the City of Redding, effective December 31, 1968. This action, as you know, is necessary because of the transfer of my employrnent to Portland, Oregon. 298 May I express my thanks to the citizens of Redding who afforded me the opportunity to participate in a small way to the growth of their city during a brief but interesting period in its development. I have especially enjoyed working with members of the City Staff and have found them all to 'be highly competent, hard working and professional public servants. � Finally, Mr. Mayor, I am proud to have served with you and my other fellow councilmen, whom I have come to know as exceptionally able and sincere men fully dedicated to the public's interest and worthy of its confidence and support.
