� The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 P. M. by Mayor Moty with the
� following Councilmen present: Chatfield, Denny, Doherty, Fulton, and
� Moty.
Also present were Assistant City Manager and Purchasing Director Stewart,
� City Attorney Murphy, Finance Director and Personnel Director Courtney,
, and Public Works Director Arness.

� Asphalt Cowboys .
In a letter to Council dated June lOth, the Asphalt Cowboys requested
per.mission to sponsor the West Coast Shows from June 12th to 15th
at the Sheriff Posse Grounds with all fees waived. Adequate insurance
will be furnished to the City Clerk before June 12th.

MOTION: Made by Councilman Denny, seconded by Councilman
� Ful�on approving the request of the Asphalt Cowboys, as outlined
above, subject to the receipt of public liability insurance satisfactory
to the City Attorney. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes : -
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. MEMORIAL NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITY
(formerly known as Sheridan Park Neighborhood Facility)
� � Assistant City Manager Stewart advised Council that Plans and Specifications
ifor the above project have been completed and authorization for the �City to
' go to bid has been received from HUD. It is the recommendation of the
Architect, Richard Smart, that bids be opened on Tuesday, July 2, 1968,
, at 4:30 P. M. , and that advertisements for bids be published on June 14th
� and 21st to comply with requirements of HUD. �,/�,�

'� � MOTION: Made by Councilman Chatfield, seconded by Councilman Doherty,
' approving the recommendation re opening of bids for the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Memorial Neighborhood Facility on Tuesday, July 2, 1968.

RESOLUTION - re Execution of Contract pertaining to OSA-240(g)
; MOTION: Made by Councilman Doherty, seconded by Councilman Fulton
I ! that Resolution No. 4080 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council of the
; City of Redding approving and providing for the execution of a contract for
� grant to acquire and/or develop land for open-space purposes No. Calif.
� � DSA-240(g) by and between the City of Redding and the United States of �-�,jG�
Ame rica.
Voting was as follows:
' Ayes: Councilmen - Chatfield, Denny, Doherty, Fulton, and Moty
i Noes: Councilmen - None
� Absent: Councilmen - None

� Resolution No. 4080 on file in the office of the City Clerk.
LAND ACQUISITION - Eleanor Ball property - Sewage Treatment Plant Facility
� In a memo to Council dated June 10, 1968, City Attorney Murphy recommended �j�
; that Council approve the purchase of the Eleanor Ball property at the fair

market value figure of $32, 250. , that the City Attorney be instructed to
prepare the necessary resolution and to prepare and execute the necessary
escrow documents, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute any and all
documents required to effectuate the purchase.
� MOTION: Made by Councilman Denny, seconded by Councilman Doherty
approving the recommendation re purchase of Eleanor Ball property as
outlined above. • � ,
