TAXICAB FARES
Mrs. A.rretta Webb,+ owner of Redding :Yellow Cab Company, appeared
before Council regarding cab fares from Redding Municipal Airport.
Mrs. Webb stated that some of the facts in the recent newspaper
article were misleading. She said that the fare structure is as follows:
1. The meter rate is $8.50 + $1. 00 surcharge from the airport
to the Holiday Inn.
2. The $9.50 charge is applicable for one passenger; however,
if additional persons are going to the same location and
arrange to share the cab, the $9.50 charge would apply.
n

3. If several people share a cab and are going to different
locations, the meter rate is charged to passengers at,:each
location with the surcharge imposed only once. Mrs. Webb
said that this occurred during the recent Supervisors Conven-
tion when one passenger was taken to the Red Lion ($8.40),
one to the Holiday Inn ($8.50), and one to the Travelodge
($9.20). She noted that this method of charging is customary
iri other areas
Members-'of`Council` suggested -that Mrs. Webb work with the City Attorney
in preparing a fee schedule to post at the Airport Terminal which would
clarify the rate structure and would point out the advantage of sharing a
cab.
