The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by Mayor Moty with the following Councilmen present: A.nderson, Denny, Fulton, and Moty. Absent: Councilman Chatfield A.lso present were City Manager Brickwood, A.ssistant City Manager Courtney, City A.ttorney.Murphy,. Public Works Director A.rness, Planning Director Harris, Electric Division Superintendent Mix, and City Clerk Brayton. CYPRESS STREET PROPERTY :- Sale and Exchange Planning Director Harris noted that the Environmental Impact Report regarding the sale and exchange of surplus Cypress.Street property was approved by the Planning Corr�xnission as to its adequacy at the conclusion of the continued public hearing on June 26, 1973, and the report was re- drafted to include public input received during the, five days foll•owing the �ol.� Commission's action. This report was submitted to Councilmen on July 3 for their consideration in arriving at a decision regarding the disposition of the Cypress Street surplus lands. Mr. Harris asked if there were any comme.nts or questions. . The Mayor ascer:tained that there were none. Mr. Robert Morgan, General Manager of Lou Gerard Motors , read a letter dated July 5, 1973, addressed to City Manager Brickwood, and aslced that it be incorporated in the Minutes of this meeting. City Manager City of Redding � 760 Parkview A.venue Redding, California 96001 "Re: Cypress Street - Lou Gerard Motors property exchange "Dear Mr. Brickwood: "Recognizing our obligation to be concerned citizens of the Redding community, and becoming aware, as, a product of.the hearings on the environmental impact report, of the legitimate concerns of the resi- cents on Parkview A.venue and those citizens who desire to protect the natural beauty of.the Sa.cramento River,.:Lou.Ge:rard MotorS wishes to _. .._ � . _. .. _. .. he.reby. amend .its.exchang e.offe r s.o.that the.s e :conc e�rn s may. be.allev- iated. . . .,. . _ "We hereby propose to .delete from the exchange Parcel B of the City property and that portion of Parcel E which lies south of the north bank of the Parkview drainage ditch. These modifications of the terms of exchange will require a survey and certain modifications of the dollar differences in value between the properties exchanged. I believe you and I have a general understanding as to these details, so their°precise def3nition can await refinement in the escrow terms which can be approved at a subsequent Council Meeting. "We desire to know today only that the City is committed to the essential terms of the exchange transaction as modified herein, so that we may 1 � ��o � proceed with our desiign plans.
