The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Moty with the
following Councilmen present: A.nderson, Chatfield, Denny, and Moty
Absent: Councilman Fulton
NOTE: Councilman Fulton entered the meeting at 7:15 P. M. , as
indicated hereinafter�.

Shasta County Kennel Club ,
A. comrriunication received from the 5hasta County Kennel
Club re conducting a "Showcase" in the Spring and Fall in
��'�'� the Downtown Mall was referred to Councilman Anderson
for review_with staff and- recor�mendation ,to Council.
The City Clerk was instructed to notify Mrs. Rowland wlien
the recommendation is to be submitted to Council.

Anderson that Ordinance No. 1125 be adopted, an ordinance of the
City Council of the City of Redding amending Chapter 17 of the Redding
City Code, 1959, as amended, by repealing Section 17-46 and substitu-
ting therefor a new Section 17-46, pertaining to licenses for renters of
real property.

stituting therefor new Sections 24-6 and 24-7, pertaining to obstructions
on streets, sidewalks and pedestrian malls.

1959, as amended, by adopting Chapter 19B , pertaining to use and
security in relation t'o the Redding Downtown Mall.

��,� Council of the City of Redding accepting for maintenance arid operation
Royal Oaks Drive, Royal Oaks Court and Mountain Oaks Drive, all
within Sunset Terrace Subdivision Unit 5 .

Councilman Denny offered Ordinance No. 1128 for first reading, an
ordinance of the City� Council of the City of Redding amending Section
�,�L� 30-3 of the Redding City Code, 1959, as amended, relating to the re-
zoning of certain real property in the City of Redding and placing said
property in Planned Development District. (PD-1-73)
Councilman Fulton entered the meeting at this point in time.

HUGHES A.IRWEST - A.pplication to PUC re 5ecurity Charge
City A.ttorriey Murphy reported that it has been called to his attention
that Hughes A.irwest has�applied to the Public Utilities Commission �/�
for approval of a 25� security charge for intra-state flights. Inasmuch
as the City of Redding is providing the security guards at Redding Muni-
cipal A.irport for Airwest flights, Mr.. Murphy requested that .Council
declare this an urgency item and authorize staff to oppose the increase
and, •if it is approved, to request that it be paid over to the City of
Redding for fu.rnishing the security guards.
Mayor Moty declared this an urgency item.
MOTION: Made by Councilman A.nderson, seconded by Councilman
Fulton approvingthe request of the City A.ttorney as stated hereinbefore.

A.nderson accepting the recommendation of the Department of Public
Works that Bid Schedule No. 677, Placer Street 6-inch Waterline ��j�
Replacement - California to Pine Streets , be awarded to K. R.
Whitmire on his low bid of $14, 017. 10.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION - South City Park Improvements

the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. The Vote: Unanimous

RESOLUTION - re Abatement of Substandard Structure - Casa Blanca
MOTION: Made by Councilman Denny, seconded by Councilman Fulton
that Resolution No. ?3-63 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council
of the City of Redding approving the report and findings of the Board
of Appeals and ordering the abatement, by demolition and removal, of ��-S
the unsafe and unsightly building on property at 413 N. Market Street.

LA.ND A.CQUISITION
In a memo to Council dated May 31 , 1973, City A.ttorney Murphy re-
quested Council approval authorizing staff to acquire four parcels of
property (listed in the memo) :necessary for the realignment and re-
construction of Oasis Road. Council approval on these parcels is ���
necessary because it involves individual expenditures in excess of
$500, which is beyond the staff expenditure heretofore authorized by
Council for land acquisition.
MOTION: Made by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman
Chatfield authorizing staff to acquire the four parcels of property
listed in the memo referred to above at the prices indicated therein.
The Vote: Unanimous A.yes

EXECUTIVE SESSION
A.t the hour of 7:30 P.M. , Mayor Moty declared an Executive Sess.ion
to discuss settlerrient of Eminent Domain Action for acquisition on
Lake Boulevard: (
A.t the hour of 7:35 P.M. the meeting was reconvened.
-�5 � City A.ttorney Murphy requested authorization to settle the Case of
City of Redding vs. IVIr, and Mrs. Frank Shuman for property acquisi-
tion on Lake Boulevard for the initial court deposit plus the construction
of curbs and gutters Ionly across the front.of the property, at an estimated
total cost of $2500.
MOTION: Made by Councilman Chatfield, seconded by Councilman
A.nderson approving the request of the City A.ttorney as outlined above.
The Vote: Unanimous Ayes
