Identified in the 2004 Parks, Trails and
Received an LWCF grant for $109,500
(Y2 appraisal value) to acquire 170.2
acres in 2016.
In 2016, created a 378 acre City Open
Space and began impact mitigation
and programming efforts.

In 2019, The City of Redding, along with project partners,,
began gating impacts of previous and existing uses.

o Control problems associated with motorized vehicular access.
o Encourage pedestrian and bicycl i ng activity.

In 2022, The City of Redding contracted with the International
Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) to analyze the site and work
with project partners to create a Trails Plan for the site.

* Redding Trail Alliance
* Community Champions— Brian Crane, Bill Kunts and more.
* Inventory the site for existing conditions / uses.
* Make recommendations on site access and phasing.
* Engage community to understand desired trail opportunities.
* Design a trail plan that activates this tremendous community asset with
trail -based recreation opportunities.
