'3t G ? j munns@cityofredding.org SUBJECT: 5.1--Consider reappointment to the Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Committee. Recommendation Accept Mayor's recommendation to reappoint Jennifer Powell to the Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Committee to serve a four-year term expiring on November 30, 2028. Fiscal Impact There is no impact to the General Fund. Alternative Action The City Council could choose not to approve the Mayor's recommendation. The position would remain vacant until a qualified candidate is identified. Background/Analysis The Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Committee was established to advise the Redding Municipal Library Board of Trustees on matters related to operation of the Shasta Public Libraries. Members appointed by the City of Redding (City) shall be residents of the City, or be employed within the City, or own a business located within the City. The County of Shasta and the Shasta Library Foundation also make appointments to the committee. Members may serve two consecutive full terms of four years. Jennifer Powell has served one unexpired term and is eligible to be reappointed. She has expressed interest in continuing to serve and would be an asset to the committee. If approved, her first full term will be from December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2028. Environmental Review This action is not a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act and no further action is required.
