�VHE AS, the City Gaunc'rl approved the Employment and Benefit Policies for Unrepresented
Employees which included additzanal cost sharing for classic public safety polic� management
employees (Tier 1 and Tier �) in Article 15: Retirement Program on I7ecember 20, 2�23, with
Resolution No. 20��-134; and
WHE AS, the Califc�rnia Public Employee's Retirement System requir�s a resolutit�n vvith
specific lanbuag� identi#'ying the exact percentage c�f cast sharing fc�r unrepresented empioyees,
and requires a simple majority of the unrepresented ernployees impacted to sign agreement to the
resol�tion, and
WHE A�, the �ity of Redding staff recammends confirming the agreement between the City
of Redding and the classic unrepresented safety police management employees(Tier 1 and Tier 2)
in accc�rdance with Government Code Section 20516 to increase cost sharingby an additiona� 1.73
percent for a total af 10.23 percent ft�r Tier 1 employees and an additional 1.62 percent for a total
af 10.12 percent far Tier 2 �mployees, effective as soon as administratively#`easible; anc�
WHE A�, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to adopt' such
recommend�tion;

that the�ity of Redding wotild like to confirm the agreement between the City of Redd�ng and the
Unrepresented Employees Group t€� increase c�st sharing of an additit�nal 1.73 percent fc�r a total

I.62 percent far a total of 10.12 percent far Tier 2 classic public safety �olice management
emplayees, effective January 5, 2025, ar as soon as adrnini�tratively feasible, in a�cordance with
Governmeilt Code Sectian 24516.
I HE �Y CEI�TIF� that the foregoing resalution was intraduced and ad�pted at a reg�ular
meeting of the City Council af the City of Redding on the 17tt' day af December, 2024, by the
fallawing vote.
