A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING AND HONORING MARK MEZZANO FOR SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF REDDING
WHEREAS,Mark Mezzano has served as a member of the Redding City Council from December 1, 2020, to
December 3, 2024,providing four years of dedicated service to the community; and
WHEREAS,during his tenure, Mark Mezzano has executed the roles of Mayor Pro Tempore and City Council
Member with pride and integrity; and
WHEREAS,Mark Mezzano served his community in many ways,not only as a City Council Member,but also
serving as the City Council liaison to the following City of Redding departments, committees, and agencies:
Airports,Fire,Personnel,Public Works,Planning Commission,Redding Capital Services Corporation,Redding
Housing Authority, Redding Joint Powers Financing Authority, Redding Municipal Library, City of Redding
as Successor Agency to the Redding Redevelopment Agency; and the following local agencies: Shasta Regional
Transportation Agency, Shasta County Remote Access Network Advisory Board, League of California Cities
Public Safety Policy Cominittee,Redding Area Bus Authority, Shasta Youth Options(formerly known as Youth
Violence Prevention Council of Shasta County); and as the City's alternate representative to the Downtown
Collaborative, Enterprise-Anderson Groundwater Sustainability Agency, Shasta County Air Pollution Control
Board, Shasta County Airport Land Use Commission, and the Shasta County Community Action Board.
WHEREAS, Mark Mezzano has provided support and leadership during the formulation, construction and/or
completion phases of the following projects and successes:
• City of Redding response to the Covid-19 Pandemic • Crisis Intervention Response Team
including development of the Covid-19 Economic • Short Terin Rental Ordinance
Response Plan • Shelter Crisis Declaration and Emergency Housing
• River Crossing Marketplace Sites
• Re-Opening the Redding Sports Complex • Caldwell and South City Park Improvements
• Downtown Revitalization and restaring the • Panorama Park Grant acquisition
Downtown street grid • Continuum of Care Administrative Entity
• Negotiation of a Long-Term Redding Rodeo • Redding Regional Airport air service enhancements
Grounds Lease Amendment • Redding Electric Utility Fire Mitigation Plan
• Carr Fire recovery • Increased Redding Police Department Sworn
• Enterprise Resource Planning Software Upgrade Officer and Community Service Officer positions
• Bechelli Lane and Placer Street Enhancements . Increased Redding Fire Department positions
• Bikeway Connections to Downtown • Redding Riverfront Specific Plan Update
• Overlook Plaza at Court and Riverside • Downtown Specific Plan Update

NOW, TI�EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding commends
Mark Mezzano for his dedication and the many contributions he has made to the City of Redding and its citizens.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Redding on the 3rd day of December, 2024, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the
