Fiscal Impact The purchase of all aluminum conductors is included in Redding Electric Utility's (REU) General System Improvements Fiscal Year 2023-25 Biennial Budget. These costs include the annual recurring expenditures for installing infrastructure to maintain reliable electric service, Alternative Action The City Council (Council) could choose not to award the bid to American Wire Group, LLC, and provide alternative direction to staff. Backg�ound/Analysis This is a routine bid to purchase Aluminum Conductor (19 Strand), a critical component for ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade REU's distribution and transmission infrastructure. Procuring this conductor ensures the continued reliability and the ability to support development within the City. Staff analyzed the bids based on the bid price and compliance with specifications in the evaluation process. American Wire Group, LLC was the apparent low bidder at a total cost of $206,054.06. The products included in American Wire Group, LLC's bid complies with the specifications, general conditions, and proposal requirements. Environmental Review This is not a project defined under California Environmental Quality Act, and no further action is required.
