Tlxe owner of the adjacent parcel has asked that th� City vacate this portion of Center Street and
Shasta Street; and
B. This portion of Centei- Street and Sh�sta Street is not been used for roadway purposes and is not;

1. TEte recitals set forth abc�ve are true„correct and are hereby adapted as finclings of fact.
2. Pursuant t� Streets and Highways Code 8334, the Cii� Council determines this portion c�f Center
5treet and Shasta Street ta be excess and is tinnecessary for present ar prospective public streeti
use.
3: The City Council approves the request to summarily vacate this pc�r�ian c�f Center �treet and
Shasta Street adjacent to the Stockyard Block as show�� on the Origina�Town of Redding, filed in
the Office of the County Recorder in Bc�ok of Old Plats at Page 55, Shasta County Records as
described il�Exhi6it`<A"and shc�wn on the attacl�ed E�i6it<`B"
4: The vacation of this portion�f�enter Street and Sl�asta Street is consistent with the General Plan.
This action will: redtice mainteilance needs t�f public streets� will not preclude uses cansistenf
with ctirt•ent zoning;and encourages design compatible with its surroundings.
5. The vacation of this pc�rtion of Center Street at�d 5hasta Street qualifies as Categorically Exempt
fi�am environmental review under tlle Califot•tlia Erivironmecital Quality Act Guidelines Sectic�n
15305–Minor Alteratiians in Land Use Limitations. Na cl7anges in la�nd use or de��sity wil(occur
and areas affected contain an avera;e slope af less than 20°l0. There is no passibility tlaat this
action will have a sigilificant impact on the environment.
6. The City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution�f Vacatian, attested by the
