RESOLUTION NO. 117
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RENAMING JUNIOR STREET TO KITE LANE
WHEREAS, New Urban Builders has requested a street name change for Junior Street located in the
Parkview Neighborhood, with the new name being "Kite Lane"; and
WHEREAS, New Urban Builders is currently the sole owner of all property fronting on Junior Street, and
there has been no opposition to the street name change, nor are there any conflicts anticipated with the name
change; and
WHEREAS, On August 9, 2005, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing regarding the
proposed street-name change as required by Chapter 17.34.020 of the Redding Municipal Code and acted
by recommending that the City Council approve of the name change to "Kite Lane";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding that:
A. Pursuant to the authority vested in the City Council by Streets and Highways Code Section 5026 and
Redding Municipal Code Section 17.34.020, the City Council hereby approves the renaming of Junior
Street to "Kite Lane," effective immediately, to be implemented by the City Clerk as follows:
1. A certified copy of this resolution shall be recorded with the Shasta County Assessor/Recorder.
2. Certified copies of this resolution shall be sent to the County of Shasta Planning Commission, Clerk,
Surveyor, Assessor/Recorder, Director of Public Works and Sheriff; SHASCOM; the Postmaster of
the Redding Branch of the United States Post Office; and the Greater Redding Chamber of
Commerce.
3. Copies of this resolution shall also be distributed to all departments of the City of Redding.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Redding on the 6th day of September, 2005, and was fully adopted at said meeting
by the following vote:
