Fiscal Impact There is no fiscal impaet to sending the attaehed letters of support. AlteNnative Action The City Council could ehaose to not send the letter of support. Backgrou n d/f1 n alysis Simpson University (Simpson) is seeking support for Community Project Funding to purchase necessary equipment for new Bachelor degree programs in Aviation and Aviation Management. The funding will a11ow for Simpson to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the aviation industry. The funding will help support the purchase of flight simulators and computer hardware that is associated with developing and implementing the programs. This wi11 ensure that Simpson has the necessary resources to offer high quality education and training in Aviation science. This will also create opportunities for individuals seeking careers in fields such as firefighting, rescue operations, and agriculture. The City of Redding has an ideal climate for flight training with its abundant sunshine. This would allow more students to attend Simpson University and strengthen the regional economy, and support workforce development.
