RESOLUTION NO. 2005-61
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE DEED AND AGREEMENT TO
CONVEY CITY PROPERTY TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CONSTRUCT
A VETERANS HOME IN mEDDING
WHEREAS, Redding has acquired approximately 26 acres of land on Knighton Road and has
offered this land to the State of California to construct a veteran's home on the property; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has asked that this offer be reflected in a written agreement
providing for the City to convey title and for the State to accept title to the property.
WHEREAS, the State submitted a preliminary agreement to the City and has asked the City to
comment and approve the agreement;
WHEREAS, the City has submitted comments on the agreement to the State to reflect issues unique
to Redding and the property, however, the State has not finalized the agreement, but has asked the City to
let the State know if it would approve the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that they
deem it in the best interests of the City to authorize the Mayor to sign the attached agreement to transfer the
property to the State for a Veteran's Home site if the State accepts the agreement without material change
or greater cost implications to the City than are set forth in the agreement.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 17th day of May 2005, by the following vote:
