HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2005-038 - US DOT Grant e e RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 38 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DECLARING SUPPORT FOR THE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES . DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A GRANT UNDER THE SMALL COMMUNITY AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT PILOT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City of Redding recognizes that commercial air service is critically important to the economic health and vitality of its City and other cities served by the Redding Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding has a goal of attracting additional passenger air service; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding believes that improved air service boosts commerce, encourages more patrons of the Re:dding Municipal Airport and saves travel time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City of Redding supports the grant application by the San Joaquin Council of Governments and Coalition of Cali fomi a Airports to the United States Department of Transportation for a grant under the Small Community Air Service Development Pilot Program Grant. 2. That duly certified copies of the resolution shall be furnished to the San Joaquin Council of Governments to include with its grant proposal and application.
