RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 03
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING
THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
WHEREAS the City of Redding desires to undertake a certain project designated the Shasta
Area Gang Enforcement to be funded in part from funds made available through the Program administered
by the California Peace Officers' Association (hereafter referred to as CPOA).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the City of Redding is
authorized, on its behalf to submit the attached proposal to CPOA and is authorized to sign and approve
on behalf of the Redding City Council the attached Grant Award Agreement including any extensions or
amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHERRESOL VED that the applicant agrees to provide all matching fimds required
for said project (including any amendment thereof) under the Program and the fimding terms and conditions
of CPOA and that the cash match will be appropriated as required.
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement,
including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing
agency. The U.S. DepartmentofJustice, U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of California and CPOA
disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to
supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 4th day of January, 2005, by the following vote:
