HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2005-001 - Mark H. Cibula RESOLUTION NO. 2005-01 A RESOLUTIOIF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE Cr.F REDDING COMMENDING AND HONORING MARK H. CIBULA FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Mark H. Cibula served as a member of the Redding City Council from April 21, 1998, to January 3, 2005, providing more than six years of dedicated service to the community; and WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mark H. Cibula also served as Mayor from December 3, 2002 to December 2,2003; and WHEREAS, Mark Cibula served his community in many ways, not only as Mayor and City Council Member, but also as the City Council liaison to the Community Services Department, the Community Development Advisory Committee, the Community Services Advisory Commission, the Local Government Study, the League of California Cities, and as Chair of the Redding Redevelopment Agency, the Redding Housing Authority and the Redding Joint Powers Financing Authority; and WHEREAS, Mark H. Cibula has provided consistent, superior leadership during the formulation, construction and/or completion of the following projects and successes: . Aquatic Center . Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan - including miles of River Trails . Parkview Neighborhood Revitalization . Improvements to the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood . Downtown Specific and General Plans . Elimination of the 23% Electric Utility Surcharge two years early . Strong financial position in all City funds . The Market Street Demonstration Block and the Yuba Street Streetscape . Renovation and Grand Opening of the Cascade Theater . Sports Complex . Stillwater Business Park . Sundial Bridge . The Clover Creek Pre,serve . Completion of the Redding Civic Center; and WHEREAS, Mark H. Cibula executed the role of City Council Member and Mayor with pride, integrity and a dedication to serving the public. NOW, THERElFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding pays tribute to a man respected and admired for his leadership and dedication to the betterment of our community.
