POHLMEYERFOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Michael J. Pohlmeyer has served as a member of the Redding City Council from January 19, 1999, to December 7,2004, providing nearly six years of dedicated service to the community; and WHEREAS, during his tenure, Michael J. PoWmeyer served as Mayor from December 2,2003, to December 7, 2004; and WHEREAS, Michael Pohlmey(~r served his community in many ways, not only as Mayor and City Council Member, but also as the City Councilliiaison to the Fire Department, the Support Services Department, including Airports, the Veteran's Home Committee, the Airport Land Use Committee, the Superior Califomia Development Committee, the Regional Transportation Planning Agency as well as serving as Chair of the Redding Joint Powers Financing Authority and the Redding Redevelopment Agency; and WHEREAS, Michael J. PoWmeyer has provided consistent, superior leadership during the formulation, construction and/or completion phases of the following projects and successes: . Strong financial position in all City funds . Stillwater Business Park . Completion of the Reddiing Civic Center . Parrnew Neighborhood Revitalization . Elimination of the 23% Electric Utility Surcharge two years early . Aquatic Center . Sports Complex . Downtown Specific and General Plans . Clover Creek Preserve All'ea . Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan including miles of River Trails . Enhancements of Redding Municipal Airport . Renovation and Grand Opening of the Cascade Theatre . The Market Street Demonstration Block and the Yuba Street Streetscape . Sundial Bridge; and WHEREAS, Michael J. PoWmeyer has executed the role of City Council Member and Mayor with pride and integrity; and WHEREAS, Michael J. Pohlmeyer also maintains strong ties to the community through his melIlbership and participation in organizations such as the Shasta Library Foundation past President, former Director of the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta Cowity, Member of the Board of Trustees of Mercy Foundation North and active member of their Planned Giving Committee, member of the Sunrise Rotary, the Knights of Columbus; and .NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding pays tribute to aman re~pected and admired for his leadership and dedication to the betterment of our community. \.) o o ~ ..l- ~ .J:) ~,.. e e .) - .. 11-,' ~';.JHEREBY CERTIFY that the fOl~egoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the Redding City Council. of the City of Redding on the 7th day of December 2004, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: ' AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Council Members - Cibula, Dickerson, Kight, Murray, and Mathena Council Members - None Council Members - None Council Members - None IJ ','" I, !' ..~ .~ / ~ .
