A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING AND HONORING MARY lLEAS STEGALL FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Mary Leas Stegall served as a member of the Redding City Council from December 5, 2000, to December 7,2004, providing four years of dedicated service to the community; and WHEREAS, during her tenure, Mary Leas Stegall also served as Vice Mayor from December 2? 2003 to December 7, 2004; and WHEREAS, Mary Leas Stegall has served her community in many ways, not only as a Council Member and Vice Mayor, but as the Executive Director of the Shasta County Women's Refuge serving victims of domestic violen, for more than 10 years, and as City Cowlcilliaison to the Administrative Services, Development Services and Police Departments, as well as Chair of the Redding Redevelopment Agency, the Redding Housing Authority and the Reddin Area Bus Authority; and WHEREAS,'Mary Leas Stegall has provided consistent, superior leadership during the formulation, construction and/or completion phases of the following projects and successes: . The Market Street Demonstration Block and the Yuba Street Streetscape . Parkview Neighborhood Revitalization . Improvements to the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood . Downtown Specific and General Plans . Renovation and Grand Opening of the Cascade Theater . Parks, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan including miles of River Trails . Strong financial position in all City funds . Aquatic Center . Elimination of the 23% Electric Utility Surcharge two years early . Sports Complex . Stillwater Business Park . Sundial Bridge . The Clover Creek Preserve; and WHEREAS, Mary Leas Stegall executed the role of City Council Member and Vice Mayor with pride, integrity and accountability to the public she served.
