HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 78-177 - Authorizing Filing of an Application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a Preliminary Permit to Construct a Hydroelecrric Power Generation Project at Whiskeytown Dam Near the City of Redding, CA! .- . r _ t RESOLUTION NO. 7,5177 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION FOR A PRELIMINARY PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT A HYDROELECTRIC POWER GENERATION PROJECT AT WHISKEYTOWN DAM NEAR THE CITY OF REDDING, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Redding to design, finance, and construct a project for the generation of hydroelectric power at Whiskeytown Dam near the City of Redding, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain a license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as a prerequisite to such project, and as a preliminary to such license application it is necessary to file an application with the Commission for a pre- liminary permit, and WHEREAS, such preliminary permit is required pursuant to Federal Power Commission Order No. 260 contained in Volume 28 , Federal Regulations , Page 315 , issued on January 11 , 1963 , and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this action is categorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that William Brickwood, City Manager, is hereby authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Redding with FERC for a preliminary permit to con- struct a hydroelectric power generation project at Whiskeytown Dam near the City of Redding. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that William Brickwood is further authorized and directed to furnish such additional information as FERC may subsequently request in connection with such application .
