A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned
by Ross A. Denney, .3084 School Street) .
WHEREAS, the; provisions of ,Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe; or are dilapidated from old age, neglect,
decay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein, and
WHEREAS , the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and
public welfare, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is cate-
gorically exempt from.the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding as follows :
That it is the intention of- this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the following described property:
Tract 15, as shown on the map of Enterprise Subdivision,
filed in the office of the County Recorder May 11, 1939 ,
in Book 5 of Maps , at page 54 , Shasta County Records. a

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned
hereinabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided
by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and is hereby
ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or
removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to for-
ward a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder
of Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 18th day of September , 1978 , and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Fulton, Gard, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Demsher
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
