HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 78-171 - Calling for a Contract with the California Highway Patrol for Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Participation RESOLUTION NO. 7,7.-/ 7/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING CALLING FOR A CONTRACT WITH THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL FOR ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PARTICIPATION. WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Sections 22660 and 22710 provide for an Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund and a method of disbursement of funds to local agencies that participate ' in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, and WHEREAS, the City of Redding has adopted an Ordinance in accordance with the Vehicle Code , providing for the abatement • of abandoned vehicles ; and WHEREAS , the City of Redding desires to participate in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program and share in the monies in said. Abandoned `Vehicle Trust Fund, and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Negative Declaration prepared in connection herewith and has determined that no significant effect on the environment is created hereby, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Redding participate in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program for a one year term, from July 1 , 1978 , to June 30 , 1979 . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the person responsible for administering the program is City Fire Marshal Del Hiebert. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the contract with the California Highway Patrol for participation in said Abandoned Vehicle Program.
