HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 78-155 - Closing Portions of Eugenia Avenue, Milo Avenue, and Roanoke Avenue to Vehicular Traffic Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 21101 RESOLUTION NO. 7 `,c A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING CLOSING PORTIONS OF EUGENIA AVENUE, MILO AVENUE , AND ROANOKE AVENUE TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE SECTION 21101. WHEREAS , pursuant to the provisions of Section 21101 of the California Vehicle Code, a local legislative body having jurisdiction over a highway may close that highway to vehicular traffic when, in its opinion, it is no longer needed for vehicular traffic , and WHEREAS, Eugenia Avenue , Milo Avenue, and Roanoke Avenue are under the jurisdiction of the City of Redding , and WHEREAS, the City of Redding intends to construct and install improvements on said streets as part of the Linden Avenue Neighborhood Improvement Program, which is funded by a Department of Housing and Urban Development discretionary grant, and WHEREAS , the portions of Eugenia Avenue , Milo Avenue , and Roanoke Avenue required to be closed to vehicular traffic as part of said Neighborhood Improvement Program are as depicted on "Exhibit A" , attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference , and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Negative Declaration prepared in connection herewith and has determined that no significant effect on the environment is created hereby , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding, as follows : 1. That the recitals made hereinabove are true and correct. cu 4, L - 1 -1- 2 . That it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Redding that the portions of Eugenia Avenue, Milo Avenue , and Roanoke Avenue depicted on "Exhibit A" are no longer needed for vehicular traffic . 3. That the portions of Eugenia Avenue , Milo Avenue , and Roanoke Avenue depicted on "Exhibit A" shall be closed to vehicular traffic effective on October 10 , 1978 . I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 5th day of September, 1978 , and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote : AYES : COUNCILMEN: Fulton, Gard, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Demsher NOES : COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None a ATTEST:; ALD M.
