RESOLUTION NO. 78-136
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 78-121 , AND REQUESTING THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SHASTA COUNTY TO PROVIDE FOR
THE CONSOLIDATION OF A SPECIAL REVENUE BOND ELECTION
WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 7 , 1978 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding will
adopt a resolution calling a special revenue bond election to
be held in the City of Redding on Tuesday , November 7 , 1978 , at
which election will be submitted to the qualified voters of the
City the following measure, to wit:
MEASURE ( ) : Shall the City of Redding issue
(Water System revenue bonds in the principal
Improvements- amount of $5 , 700 , 000 . 00 pursuant
Revenue Bonds) to the Revenue Bond Law of 1941 to
provide funds for the improvement
of the municipal water system, comprising a new water
treatment plant and raw water pump station modifica-
tions , together with necessary pumps , valves , control
facilities and machinery and lands and easements there-
for, and other works , property or structures necessary
or convenient for the improvement of the municipal
water system of the City of Redding?
and
WHEREAS , the State of California General Election will
be held on Tuesday, November 7 , 1978 , and it is the desire of the
City Council that said special revenue bond election be consoli-
dated with said General Election,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows :
Section 1 . Resolution No . 78-121, adopted on July 17 ,
1978 , is hereby rescinded and shall be of no further force and
effect. ti
Section 2 . The Board of Supervisors of Shasta County NI
is hereby requested to order the consolidation of said special

revenue bond election with said General Election to be held on
Tuesday, November 7 , 1978 , insofar as the City is concerned, and
to further provide that within the territory affected by said
order of consolidation, to wit, the City, the election precincts ,
polling places and voting booths shall in every case be the same
and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of
said precincts , and to further provide that said measure for issu-
ing revenue bonds hereinafter set forth shall be set forth in the
form of ballot to be used at said election insofar as the same
is held within the City. The Board of Supervisors of Shasta
County is further requested to order the County Clerk of such
County (1) to set forth on all sample ballots relating to said
consolidated elections, to be mailed to the qualified voters of
the City , said measure hereinabove set forth, and to mail with
said sample ballots to said voters printed copies of arguments
(if any) for and against said measure, and (2) to provide absent
voter ballots for said General Election and said special revenue
bond election consolidated therewith for use by qualified voters
of the City who are entitled thereto, in the manner provided by law.
Section 3 . The Board of Supervisors of Shasta County
is hereby further authorized to canvass , or cause to be canvassed,
as provided by law, the returns of said special revenue bond
election with respect to the votes cast on said measure and to
certify such canvass of the votes cast for and against said measure
to this City Council.
Section 4 . The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to certify to the due adoption of this Resolution and
to transmit a copy thereof so certified 'to the Board of Supervisors

of Shasta County and to file a copy hereof so certified with the
County Clerk of Shasta County .
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Redding on' the 7th day of August, 1978, by the following vote :
