HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1976-173 - Accepting Review Appraiser's report and valuation of the Second Baptist Church property at 2014 Linden StreetRESOLUTION NO. 7G -173 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ACCEPTING THE REVIEW APPRAISER'S REPORT AND VALUATION OF THE SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH PROPERTY AT 2014 LINDEN STREET. WHEREAS, the City's independent appraiser, Paul L. Benson, M.A.I., of the firm of Benson-Stathem-Shaw Associates, has appraised the fair market value of the Second Baptist Church property at 2014 Linden Street, known also as Parcels No. 104-41-26 and No. 104-41-27, and ha:sestablished the fair market value of the land and improvements thereon to be the sum of Forty -Seven Thousand Dollars, and WHEREAS, the City's review appraiser, James Hull, M.A.I., has reviewed the aforesaid appraisal and does agree that the fair market value of said property is Forty -Seven Thousand Dollars, and WHEREAS, the subject property consists of approximately 12,064 square feet of land improved with a 2,290 square foot part- ially wood frame and partially concrete block church structure on a concrete foundation, together with miscellaneous ancillary im- provements and fixtures, and WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore established that the fee title to this property needs to be acquired for the purpose of constructing the Buenaventura thoroughfare, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the just compensation for this property is the sum of Forty -Seven Thousand Dollars. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the work of the appraiser and the review appraiser with respect to this property has been performed in a competent manner in accordance with applicable State law, the Act, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development policies and requirements.
