A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
REDDING OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND
DESIGNATED "ENTERPRISE ANNEX NO. 97" AND GIVING NOTICE
OF THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO.
WHEREAS, the owners of all the land in the territory
proposed herein to be annexed have filed consents to this pro-
posed annexation, and to the taxation of property within the an-
nexed area to pay any indebtedness or liability of the City of
Redding contracted prior to or existing at the time said territory
is annexed, including any bonded indebtedness of the City of Red-
ding outstanding or authorized at the date of the first publication
of this resolution of the City Council giving notice of this pro-
posed annexation, with the Local Agency Formation Commission of
Shasta County, and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta
County, California, did in session duly assembled on Wednesday,
October 13, 1976, consider and approve the proposed annexation of
said "Enterprise Annex No. 97", as more particularly described
hereinafter, and
WHEREAS, at the aforesaid session, the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Shasta County, California, did waive the
requirement of notice, hearing, or an election by the City of
Redding,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. That the City Council does hereby initiate proceed-
ings to annex "Enterprise Annex No. 97" on its own motion, the
owners of all the land in the territory proposed to be annexed in
this annexation having heretofore petitioned the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Shasta County, California, for annexation
alternatively to the Enterprise Public Utility District or to the
City of Redding,:and the Local Agency Formation Commission having
approved said annexation in the alternative. Subsequent thereto,
the registered voters of the Enterprise Public Utility District
did, on November 2, 1976, by a majority vote, vote in favor of
the reorganization of the Enterprise Public Utility District by
dissolution of the District and annexation of the territory thereof
to the City of Redding. The annexation of the territory within
the boundaries of proposed "Enterprise Annex No. 97" not having
been completed to the Enterprise Public Utility District at the
time of said election, it becomes necessary and desirable for the
City of Redding to initiate the completion of such proposed annexa-
tion to the City of Redding.
2. That the territory which is proposed to be annexed
to the City of Redding as "Enterprise Annex No. 97" is situate in
the County of Shasta, State of California, and more particularly
described as follows:
A portion of the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter
of Section 7, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M., Shasta County,
California. Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 4,
Block 2, Loma Vista Subdivision, as shown on that map recorded
in Book 8 of Maps at page 22, Shasta County Records, the
point of beginning of the annexation; thence, from said
point of beginning along the west line of said Loma Vista
Subdivision, S. 0133'25" E. 195.00 feet to the northeast
corner of Lot 2, Block 3, of Unit No. 2, Loma Vista Subdivi-
sion as shown on that Map recorded in Book 9 of Maps at
page 34, Shasta County Records; thence, along the north
line of said Lot 2, S. 89126'25" W. 90.00 feet; thence,
leaving said north line, N. 0133'25" W. 195.00 feet to a point
on the south line of El Cedro Avenue, County Road No. 3H143;
thence along said south line N. 89°26'25" W. 90.00 feet to
the point of beginning. Containing an area of 0.40 acre more
or less.
3. That Monday, December 27, 1976, at the hour of 12:00
Noon, in the Council Chambers in the Police Department and City
Council Chambers Building, 1313 Market Street, Redding, Shasta
County, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where any owner of property within the City who does not also own
property in the territory to be annexed may appear before the
City Council of the City of Redding and show cause why such un-
inhabited territory should not be annexed to the City of Redding.
Such protests must be in writing, may be filed at any time prior
to the termination of said hearing for objections to the proposed
annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners

of property affected and the description and area of such property
in general terms. Owners of land in the territory proposed to be
annexed who have filed petitions or consents to this annexation
with the Local Agency Formation Commission may not file written
protests against the annexation, having previously filed such
consents.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Redding is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be
published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City, in such a manner that publication shall be
complete at least four days prior to the date set for the hearing.
5. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed
to cause written notice of this proposed annexation to be mailed
to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed was assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll
available on the date these proceedings were initiated, at the
addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said City Clerk.
The City Council is proceeding herein pursuant to the provisions of
Government Code Sections 35310 and 35310.1.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular mpeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 6th day of December, 1976, and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:
