A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING CONSENTING
TO THE SHASTA COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY TRANSACTING CERTAIN SPECIFIED
BUSINESS WITHIN THE CITY IN ADDITION TO TRANSACTIONS REGARDING THE
LORENZ. HOTEL
WHEREAS, the Shasta County Housing Authority, having primary
jurisdiction within those areas of the County outside the City of
Redding has been authorized to lease 162 units under the Section 8
Housing Assistance Payments Program, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Redding, having primary jurisdiction
within the City limits of Redding has been authorized to lease 38
units under the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program, and
WHEREAS, the City and County have already entered into an
agreement whereby the County of Shasta may use up to 76 units for
residents of the Lorenz Hotel, by City of Redding Resolution No.
76-76, and Shasta County Resolution No. 76-1, and
WHEREAS, Secticn 882.103(c) of the Federal Register pub-
lished May 13, 1976 states that Public Housing Authorities which
"develop administrative arrangements with other PHA's in order
to permit Certificate Holders to seek housing inthe broadest
possible area" will .receive preferential funding, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is most anxious to provide
the best possible service to its Section 8 clients and those of
the County of Shasta.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that in addition to the
resolution heretofore adopted by both the City of Redding and
the County of Shasta regarding the Lorenz Hotel, that the City
of Redding consents to the issuance of no more than ten 3 or 4 '
bedroom living unit certificates and corresponding Housing Assist-
ance Payment Contractsunder the Section 8 "Existing Housing Program"
by the Shasta County Housing Authority within the City of Redding.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the First day of November, 1976, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
