A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY'COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 15 OF THE REDDING CITY CODE ON CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF:REDDING. (Owned by Arthur
C. Scott, 1613 Cottonwood Avenue.)
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 15 of the Redding
City Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect,
decay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health
and public welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding, as follows:
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 15 of the Redding City
Code on the following described property:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the north line
of Butte Street, with the east line of Oak Street, as shown
on the map of Highland Addition in Volume 1 of Maps at page
64, in the office of the County Recorder of Shasta County;
thence N. 17157' W. along the east line of Oak Street,
116.60 feet; thence S. 72°18' W., 116.60 feet to the true
point of beginning of this description; thence from said
point of beginning S. 72°18' W. 60.00 feet; thence N. 17°
42' W. along the east line of Cottonwood Avenue; 100.00
feet; thence N. 72118' E. 60.00 feet; thence S. 17°42' E.
100.00 feet to the true point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here-
inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code, and is hereby ordered to be
abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or•removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to nito

take all proceedings provided in Chapter 15 of the City Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of Shasta
County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 1st day of November , 1976, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
