A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 15 OF THE REDDING CITY CODE ON CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned by Matilda
Westby and John D. Jurin, Jr., 1867 Sacramento Street).
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 15 of the Redding City
Code provide that all buildings or structures which are structurally
unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other
causes within the City of Redding, which constitute a fire menace
or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort for vagrant or
dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by the City Council
of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as provided therein, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and has
declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and
public welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding, as follows:
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 15 of the Redding City
Code on the following described property:
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of Sacra-
mento Street and the east line of West Street; thence N.
72020' E., 102.856 feet to the west line of the property
described in the deed from Carmen H. Barrett, et ux, to
D & H Investors, a partnership, composed of Raymond V.
Darby and William D. Hunter, dated January 26, 1962,
recorded January 26,1962, in Book 693 of Official Records,
at page 693, Shasta County Records; thence S. 17140' E.,
along said west line 70 feet; thence S. 72°20' W., 102.856
feet to the east line of West Street; thence N. 17140' W.,
70 feet to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here-
inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code, and is hereby ordered to be
abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the V
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 15 of the City Code. U

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 1st day of November , 1976, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
