A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING ESTABLISHING ELECTRICAL UTILITY RATES FOR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF REDDING. WHEREAS, Section 9-14.10 of the Redding City Code, 1959, as amended, provides that the City Council shall establish electric utility rates by resolution, and WHEREAS, due to the increased cost of wholesale power provided to the City of Redding by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and to provide funds for the capital improvement program of the City Electrical Department, it has been recommended that the City Council adopt new increased electric utility rates as established in the attached "CITY OF REDDING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES Schedule of Rates", which is attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A", and WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully considered this recommendation and has reviewed the existing electric utility rate structure and has studied the increased costs of wholesale power to the City and the capital improvement program of the Electric Department, and deems it to be in the best interests of the City of Redding to establish the new increased electric utility rates as proposed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding, pursuant to Section 9-14.10 of the Redding City Code, 1959, as amended, does hereby approve and adopt as the established rates for municipal electric service to customers within the corporate limits of the City of Redding those rates and charges set forth in the "CITY OF REDDING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES Schedule of Rates", which is attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and incorporated herein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall be August 1, 1976, as to the power furnished to the customers of the City of Redding electric utility after that date for which meter readings occur on or after September 1, 1976. I= 0 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 75-78 adopted on July 21, 1975, is hereby repealed and rescinded, and shall be of no further force and effect from and after August 1, 1976. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk and the Finance Director of the City of Redding both be and they hereby are directed to maintain available certified copies of this Resolution in their respective offices for inspection and review by any interested person or persons. Power Factor Adjustment: When the billing demand has exceeded 500 KW for three consecutive months and thereafter until it has fallen below 200 KW for 12 consecutive months, billing (except minimum bills) will be decreased or increased, respectively, 0.125% for each 1% that the average power factor of customer's load in the month was greater or lower than 95% (computed to nearest whole percent). Billing Demand: The maximum 15 minute measured demand in the current month. When the load is intermittent or subject to violent fluctuations, utility may base billing demand upon a five minute interval instead of a 15 minute interval. Whenever monthly use of energy exceeds 24,000 KWH, a demand meter will be installed. During the time usage exceeds 24,000 KWH per month and demand meter is not installed, demands will be estimated for billing purposes. Fixed Rate: Fixed rate applicable to loads where metering equipment is not installed. May be utilized.for single and three phase service where usage is fixed or subject to flat rate contract. Minimum charge $2.30 per month. Estimated usage .030 per KWH. Street Lighting -'•Applicable to lights installed on streets and highways and for individual customers who request lighting on private property: Flat Rate - 175 watts $4.55 per month 400 watts 5.75 per month 1000 watts 8.05 per month 1500 watts 11.00 per month Commercial Heating - Applicable to commercial heating, cooking or water heating and small single phase power service. Alternating current service -will be supplied at standard voltage of 110 or 220 single phase, 60 .cycles. This rate will not be assigned to new customers after August 1, 1975. Will be the total connected load in Hp or for installation in excess of 40 Hp at customer's option may be.determined by measurement. When measured, it will be the highest of the maximum 15 minutes measured demand in the current month or the demand in any preceding 11 months. In the determination of connected load, each KW of mercury arc •rectifier and commercial heating and cooking installations will be considered.as equivalent to one Hp.
