A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CONSENTING TO THE SHASTA COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY
TRANSACTING CERTAIN SPECIFIED BUSINESS WITHIN THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the Shasta County Housing Authority, having
primary jurisdiction within those areas of the County outside of
the City of Redding, has been authorized to contract for the im-
provement of at least 76 studio or one bedroom living units under
the Section 8 "Existing Housing Program" of the Federal Government,
and
WHEREAS, both the Shasta County Housing Authority and
the City of Redding Housing Authority have determined that it is
feasible to remodel the Lorenz Hotel in the City to provide this
type of living unit, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Redding to
consent to the Shasta County Housing Authority transacting business
within the City, since the City has established its own Housing
Authority,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 34209 of the Health and Safety Code of the
State of California, the City Council of the City of Redding con-
sents to the transaction of the following business within the City
of Redding by the Shasta County Housing Authority: The improvement
and rental of no more than 76 studio and one bedroom living units
in the Lorenz Hotel under the Section 8 "Existing Housing Program".
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 19th day of July 1976, and was duly adopted at
said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Anderson, Demsher, Gard, Pugh, and Fulton
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
