A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"HENDERSON ROAD ANNEX NO. 1".
WHEREAS, petitions filed with the City Clerk of the City
of Redding on or after the 10th day of April, 1975, were presented
to the City Council of the City of Redding, requesting the Council
to give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings
in connection with that certain inhabited territory therein referred
to and generally described which is contiguous to the City of Redding,
and
WHEREAS, said petitions were referred to the Planning
Commission of the City of Redding on or after the 27th day of May,
1975, for investigation and recommendation, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 29th day of March, 1976, favor-
ing the commencement of annexation proceedings, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Redding to give its consent to the commencement of such
annexation proceedings upon condition that the electors within said
territory be informed at the time the petition for annexation is
circulated that the question to be submitted to said electors shall
be whether the territory shall be annexed, and the property in the
territory subject to taxation after annexation equally with the
property within the City of Redding to pay the entire bonded indebted-
ness of the City of Redding outstanding or authorized at the date
of the first publication of the notice of election, for the acquisi-
tion, construction and completion of municipal improvements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDDING AS FOLLOWS:
1. That consent is hereby granted for the commencement
of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory
in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913, provided the petition
for annexation contains a request that the question to be submitted

to the electors residing in the territory proposed to be annexed
shall be whether the territory shall be annexed and the property
in the territory subject to taxation after annexation equally with
property within the City of Redding to pay the bonded indebtedness
of the City of Redding outstanding or authorized at the date of the
first publication of the notice of election for the acquisition,
construction or completion of municipal improvements.
2. That said unincorporated territory is designated as
"Henderson Road Annex No. 1" and is described as:
All that portion of the E. 1/2 of Section 1, T. 31 N., R. 5 W.
and the W. 1/2 of Section 6, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M.,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the City of Redding boundary line,
said point being the northeast corner of the parcel shown on
the map recorded March 19, 1974, in Book 38 of Land Surveys,
at page 126, Shasta County Records, said corner being on the
south line of Cypress Avenue; thence along the east line of
said parcel S. 19139120" E., 199.92 feet; thence S. 87157'22"
E., 95.65 feet; thence S. 19018'33" E., 67.78 feet; thence
N. 80°14'50" E., 50.23 feet; thence S. 20009'55" E., 195.75
feet to the south line of said parcel; thence along said line
and the westerly extension thereof S. 69°27'55" W., 466.70
feet to the southwest'corner of the parcel conveyed to Glenn
W. and Wilma G. Shook by deed recorded October 21, 1963, in
Book 763 of Official Records, at page 87, Shasta County
Records; thence along the west line of said parcel N. 191
51' W., 440 feet more or less to a point that bears N. 700
09' E., from the most southerly corner of Parcel "C" as shown
on the map recorded April 19, 1954, in Book 15 of Land Surveys,
at page 3, Shasta County Records; thence S. 70°09' W., 15
feet more or less to the most southerly corner of said Parcel
"C" and also the most southerly corner of the parcel relinquished
to the County of Shasta as shown on the map recorded October 15,
1957, in Book 4 of State Highway Maps, at page 14, Shasta County
Records; thence along the southerly line of said relinquished
parcel N. 19054' W., 22.11 feet; thence N. 37°16' W., 79.88
feet; thence N. 79150' W., 89.01 feet; thence N. 68° W., 30.01
feet; thence N. 20°21' W., 11.12 feet; thence S. 84°28' W.,
17.27 feet; thence N. 74°46'16" W., 91.55 feet; thence along
a 150 foot radius curve to the left through an angle of 590
51'56" for a distance of 156.73 feet; thence N. 83° W., 39.60
feet; thence S. 15144'39" W., 13.50 feet to the southerly line
of the Old State Highway now known as Henderson Road; thence
along said line S. 78150' W., 250.42 feet; thence along a
127.50 foot radius curve to the left through an angle of 77°
00'00" for a distance of 171.29 feet; thence S. 1°50' W.,
164.20 feet; thence along a 261.01 foot radius curve to the right
through an angle of 62105'00" for a distance of 263.86 feet to
the easterly line of the Emma B. Henderson parcel as shown on
the map recorded November 5, 1932, in Book 4 of Land Surveys,
at page 14, Shasta County Records; thence along said line S.
0047' W., 604.37 feet; thence S. 23°47' E., 669.31 feet;
thence S. 21°06' E., 582.39 feet; thence S. 38108' E., 248.50
feet to the south line of Section 6, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M.;
thence along said line S. 89040' W., 1023.65 feet to the south-
west corner of said Section 6; thence along the south line of
Section 1, T. 31 N., R. 5 W., M.D.M., S. 89°40' W., 800 feet
more or less to the centerline of the Sacramento River and the
City of Redding boundary line; thence along said line northerly

1080 feet more or less to a point on the easterly extension
of the northerly line of Hamilton Street, said point lying
900 feet southeasterly from the easterly line of Freebridge
Street; thence N. 3°08'24" E., 1092.12 feet to a point
bearing N. 84107135" E., 200 feet from a 6" x 6" concrete
monument being Engineer's Station 106+49.37 as shown on the
map recorded March 4, 1936, in Book 5 of Land Surveys, at
page 36, Shasta County Records; thence continuing along
the City of Redding boundary line S. 84007135" W., to the
west bank of the Sacramento River; thence along said bank
northerly 1100 feet more or less to the south line of Cypress
Avenue; thence along said line easterly 2000 feet more or
less to the point of beginning.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 19th day of July , 1976, and was duly adopted at
said meeting by the following vote:
