HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1976-024 - Intention to begin legal proceedings of abatement under 15 RMC on 2173 California StreetRESOLUTION NO. / �_ "1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER CHAPTER 15 OF THE REDDING CITY CODE ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned by Carl R. Mauger and Ella I. Mauger, 2173 California Street). WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code provide that all buildings or structures which are structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as provided therein, and WHEREAS, the Building Inspector and the Fire Marshal have made an inspection of the building located on real property as hereinafter described, and have declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and public welfare, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding, as follows: That it is the intention of this City Council to begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code on the following described property: The south 25 feet of Lot 5 and the north 25 feet of Lot 6, Block B, Walden's Addition, as shown on the map of Frisbie's, Walden's and Honn's Additions to the town of Redding recorded October 14, 1887, in Book 1 of Town Plats at page 34. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here- inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code, and it is hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal, the Build-, ing Inspector and the Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all proceedings provided in Chapter 15 of the City Code. Rescinded by Resolution No. R-78-198 C� -1- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of Shasta County for recordation. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 1st day of March , 1976, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Anderson, Demsher, Fulton, Pugh, and Denny NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None ATTEST : -MhLDRED L.
