A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
TEMPORARILY CLOSING A,CERTAIN PORTION OF OVERHILL DRIVE.
WHEREAS, the staff has reported to the City Council that
a majority of the property owners residing along Overhill Drive
desire that the City close to vehicular traffic a substantial
portion of the unpaved section of Overhill Drive, in order to
deter the use of Overhill Drive by speeders and joyriders, and
WHEREAS, the property owners along the portion proposed
to be closed do not object to such closure, so long as it is
temporary, and may be reopened at such time as the adjacent
property is improved, or is sold for immediate development, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommenda-
tion of staff and considered the request of the residents of
Overhill Drive, and deems it to be in the best interests of the
City and its citizens to approve this request,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding, pursuant to the authority vested in it by
the provisions of Section 21101 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, it does hereby temporarily close to vehicular
traffic the portion of Overhill Drive depicted and designated
on the diagram attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and incorporated
herein by reference.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
be and he hereby is directed to construct the necessary fences,
barricades, warning devices and gates to physically accomplish
the authorized closing.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City
of Redding
on the 17th day of February , 1976, and was
duly adopted at said
meeting by the following vote:
