A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 15 OF THE REDDING CITY CODE ON CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned by Hazel
Fay Jones, 2173 California Street).
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 15 of the Redding
City Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect,
decay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein, and
WHEREAS, the Building Inspector and the Fire Marshal
have made an inspection of the building located on real property
as hereinafter described, and have declared it to be unsafe and/or
a hazard to safety, health and public welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding, as follows:
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 15 of the Redding
City Code on the following described property:
Parcel 1: The south 50 feet of Lot 6 of Block B of Walden's
Addition to the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of
California, as per map entitled "Map of Frisbie's Walden's
and Honn's.Additions to the Town of Redding, Shasta County,
California. Also Sunny Slope in Frisbie's Addition" filed
October 14, 1887, in Volume 1 of Maps at page 34 thereof,
records of Shasta County, California.
Parcel 2: Beginning at a point on the east line of Calif-
ornia Street, 10 feet south of the northwest corner of Lot
7, Block B of Walden Addition to the City of Redding; run-
ning thence in the northerly direction 10 feet to said north-
west corner; thence in an easterly direction along the north
line of said lot 140 feet to the northeast corner of said
Lot 7; thence in a southerly direction along the east line
of said Lot 7, 41.35 feet; thence in a northerly and west-
erly direction 145.16 feet to.the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here-
inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by �v
Chapter 15 of the Redding City Code, and it is hereby ordered to �1

be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal, the Build-
ing Inspector and the Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are
hereby directed to take all proceedings provided in Chapter 15
of the City Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 2nd day of February , 1976, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
