Recommendation Approve the Mayor's recommendation to reappoint Kelly Kafel to the City's Administrative Hearings Board to serve an additional four-year term effective February l, 2024, and expiring January 31, 2028. Fiscal Impact There is no impacf to the General Fund. Alternatzve Action The City Council could choose not to approve the Mayor's recommendation. Background/Analysis The City of Redding (City) established a three-person Administrative I�earings Board on November 15, 2005, tasked with administration enforcement of provisions of the Redding Municipal Code. The membership of the board shall include persons with professional experience in law, law enforeement, dispute resolution, administrative processes, engineering, general contracting, subcontracting, or r�a1 estate, and must be a resident of the City, own a business, or be employed within the city limits of Rec�ding. Board Member Kelly Kafel's term expires on January 31, 2024, therefore one scheduled vacancy exists. Ms. Kafel has expressed interest in continuing to serve on the City's Administrative �Iearings Board and is eligible to serve a second four-year term. If approved, her new term will begin February 1, 2024, and end January 31, 2028.
