A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9.36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING (OWNED BY THEO AND GAIL BUI
AND LOCATED AT 1152 CENTER STREET).
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9.36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has made an
inspection of the building located on real property as herein-
after described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard
to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9.36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the following described property:
The real property situate in the City of Redding, County of
Shasta, State of California, described as follows:
Commencing at a point at the intersection of the northwest
corner of North Street (now Eureka Way) and the continuation
of Center Street in the City of Redding, County of Shasta,

State of California, said point being on this westerly
extension of the northerly line of North Street, 80 feet
wide (now Eureka Way) as shown by the map of Diestelhorst's
Addition to Redding, recorded August 11, 1881 in Book of Old
Plats at page 53, Shasta County Records, distant 80 feet
westerly from the southwest corner of Block 4 of said
Diestelhorst's Addition and running thence N. 17140 W. along
the west side of said Center Street 300 feet to the south-
erly line of Trinity Street; thence S. 72120' W. along the
south line of Trinity Street, 124 1/3 feet to the east line
of the California and Oregon Railroad right of way; thence
S. 39130' E. along the said east line of said right of way
317 5/12 feet to a point on the north line of said North
Street; thence easterly along the north line of said North
Street 15 7/12 feet to the place of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned herein-
above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9.36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9.36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 17th day of December , 1984, and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
